SCOUTMASTER David Demarest, AIA

Dave currently serves as the Scoutmaster for Troop 718. He attended Wood Badge 83 at Philmont and recently staffed at Wood Badge 90, also at Philmont.  He is a qualified Rock and Climbing Tower Instructor, has developed a program for the Disabilities Awareness Merit Badge, is the Webmaster and Publisher of the 718 BUGLER (our Troop's newsletter), Trek Advisor for Chimayo High Adventure 2008, Trek Advisor for Philmont 2009, Staff at Webelos Woods 2007, 2008, 2009, and Order of the Arrow Ordeal member. He’s an ASM for a the 2010 National Jamboree,  Jamboree Troop 1649 and was recently awarded the Scouter's Training Key. Married  to Linda, they have 4 children and one granddaughter. Jeremy is 15 and a Star scout.

He currently serves on the Executive Board of the Friends of the Katy Trail and the Trinity Strand Trail.

COMMITTEE CHAIRMAN Dr. George Theilen

George currently serves as the Committe Chairman for Troop 718. Prior to this position, he served as the Scoutmaster for the Troop and was the Cubmaster for Pack XYZ. George is a recipient of the Silver Beaver Award for distinguished service to young people within the Circle Ten Council. He attended Wood Badge 59 at Philmont and staffed many subsubsequent Wood Badge Courses. He was the Scoutmaster for Jamboree Troop 1718 and Jamboree Troop XYZ . Trek Advisor for a Philmont High Adventure Crew & Seabase High Adventure, Staff at Webelos Woods, Order of the Arrow Ordeal Member, and has been awarded the Scouter's Training Key, Scout Leaders Training Award, Cubmaster Award, Cub Scouter Award, and is an Order of the Arrow Ordeal member. Married  to Jan, they have 4 children and one granddaughter and 3 Eagle Scouts.
